Questions and Answers

Q : UCB : Need to halt road-wear testing during the testing/demo days.
Q : RFS : Which days?

A : We have the ok on this we need time and dates.

Q : MIT : How high off the ground will the XSMs be?
A : UCB : Depends on what is negotiated between the teams. Current consensus is that XSMs will sit on 4 inch wood cubes.

Q : UVa : We want to setup a tent with desks, chairs, power and water near the middle of the north-south road, where the UVA base is located.
A : UCB : As long as we are not blocking traffic to the EPA Building. We will not be able to put this in the road, but off to one side or the other.

Q : UVa : Can Berkeley confirm that we can drive/park a 20~25 feet moving truck (e.g. U-haul) within the Richmond station?
A : UCB : Yes, but not in the EPA building parking lot, or in any place where it will obstruct traffic flow. Note: turning around the truck at the far North end of the long North-South road might be difficult.
Q: UVA : (Follow-up question) If turning the truck around at the north end is difficult, can we back it south? We hope to inspect the site on Aug 24 and perform some initial tests.

Q : UVa : We need a big screen display. Can Berkeley help us on that?
A : UCB : We are short on big screens and projectors. Will have two projectors for building 445 as well as a 42" plasma display.

Q : UVa : We know that we can get exclusive access to the road on the demo day. Can we block the traffic during the test?

A : UCB : Yes, this area is generally unused. We need to let the RFS police know time and dates.

Q : UVa : How is the magnetic disturbance near the metallic buildings along the road?
A : UCB : Very little activity, large equipment in long buildings along road that we plan on using.(can Berkeley team confirm this?)

Q : UVa : What is maximum speed we are allowed to drive along the road?
A : UCB : The RFS campus speed limit is 25 MPH.

Q : OSU : Will we have power at some point near the perimeter of the blue deployment area?
A : UCB : Yes, we have power at the "blue shack" and Trailer/GCS in flying field. We can run power cables from either.

Q : Kestrel : Concerning the procedure for pre-testing code on the group of five nodes in the week before the demo, would it be possible to submit the image to be tested by e-mail?

Q : Kestrel : The "Dry runs" schedule on Sunday has contiguous two-hour slots. We'd much rather have several shorter slots spaced well apart; e.g., three 40-minute slots.

Q : Kestrel : Will there be an opportunity for testing on Sunday after 18:00, say?
